THE ROTARY FOUNDATION

The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Put simply “to do good in the world”.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better word.

The Rotary Club of Clayton is a strong supporter of the Foundation through fund contributions of both the Club and private donors and, through program participation.

Our Club has recently supported the following Foundation projects:

MORADABAD – India

We supported, along with 9 other Clubs, a project for the  provision of 2 deep water bore wells and 4 toilets with septic tanks to each of 20 slum villages in Moradabad to help prevent disease and improve their general living conditions.

KENYA

We supported a Global Grant project of the Rotary Club of Healesville for a goat project in Kenya.

ZAMBIA

We supported the Rotary Club of Doncaster in providing a dialysis machine to a hospital in Kitwe in Zambia.

CLAYTON

Through a District Simplified Grant we were able to help fund one of 4 humidifiers for the Monash Medical Centre Children’s ward.

ROTARY GRANTS

Our Club has attended a Grants Management Seminar and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rotary Foundation to enable us to participate in Rotary Grants for 2013/14 under the new Grants model.
